Andrea Cortonesi's Rapace blends Sangiovese with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. There's a lot of action in the nose with layers of sugar beet, chopped herbs, coffee-vanilla, cola, medicinal qualities and cherry preserves. It wins high marks for its mouthfeel, too, which is well structured.
