Aromas of toast, scorched earth, leather, dried herb and a balsamic note emerge on this solid, brawny red. The warm, chewy palate delivers raspberry compote, chopped mint, dried sage, coffee and licorice framed in close-grained, drying tannins. You'll also notice the wallop of evident alcohol. It shows the heat of the vintage so drink sooner rather than later.
